The Stinking Rose- San Francisco

As part of the weekend’s birthday celebrations, we took the recommendation of the probably overly touristy restaurant, The Stinking Rose. Maybe the best restaurant name of all time, part of the lure, the other part being that it’s a garlic themed restaurant. Yes, please!

When in Rome, we started with their roasted garlic infused oil, served with some large bread rolls to soak it all up.

While the Gentleman continued his garlic education with a 40-clove chicken, I opted for a more lady-like chopped salad which featured some local blue cheese and crab meat. It was surprisingly delicious for what I anticipated to be a tourist trap.

The meal ended up with half of the waitstaff serenading the Gentleman, much to his embarrassment, but they brought with them the garlic ice cream (!) which tasted like vanilla with a garlic mix in. It wasn’t offensive as it sounds, but didn’t count a true birthday dessert either.

Thoughts?
