Zi’ntonio- Sorrento

The group agreed, hands down, that Zi’ntonio was the highlight of Sorrento restaurants experienced over the weekend. A last minute addition to the schedule, recommended by the hotel, the large restaurant had a number of attentive servers and sommeliers. Their humor brought a fun vibe to the white-tablecloth establishment. The “pizza bread” they start you with didn’t hurt either. The fluffy, chewy goodness was an excellent precursor to a tasty meal. Really, you could have stopped eating after this plate.

For starters we had the Sicilian red shrimp on a plate of fresh tomatoes. Very nice and the sweetness of the tomatoes were a real standout.

Also shared was the fried calamari which came with some strips of zucchini as well.

It was poetic that the final pasta of the trip was FINALLY pasta Nerano. Rather than traditional noodles, this was served with short rigatoni. Creamy zucchini, rich and abundant, this was a winner!

More sharing for dessert- the house made tiramisu which was out of this world and probably one of the best we’ve ever had.

Zi’ntonio was a fabulous end to the weekend and will sure to be a staple the next time we’re in town. Up market, delicious, and friendly, really you couldn’t ask for a more perfect experience.
