Hotel Lunetta- Rome

Looking for a boutique hotel in Rome landed us recently at Hotel Lunetta, not too far from any of the sights, particularly close to the Piazza Navona and Campo Fiore. The lobby was luxe and staff helpful from the beginning, offering cappuccinos on arrival despite our rooms not yet being ready and free sessions at the spa. The rooftop bar wasn’t yet opened for season, but offered Roman rooftop views on a bright, spring day. Many hotel guests turned the space into a bar despite the service, with bottles of wine and nibble in tote.

We opted to receive a category of room lower than what we booked so that we could get into it and take work calls on time. The room wasn’t quite as nice as the rest of the hotel. It was a bit worn and extremely hot, prompting a daily phone call asking the desk to please turn the heat down. The small bed sufficed for a few days and the Gentleman said it well when stating “I can’t wait to not touch a wall when I’m sleeping.” Touche. Pun intended.

The bathroom was nearly as big as the bedroom and featured a nice walk-in shower and an abundance of Malin & Goetz products.

In the entry of the room was the standard safe and mini fridge. Nothing special here.

A wee closet was just big enough for two coats, but was nice to have nonetheless.

Would I stay at Hotel Lunetta again? It wasn’t awful, but I kind of doubt it. The attention to detail just didn’t seem to be there. I was a little frustrated in the lower room category and most disappointed in the lack of attention during an awful accident that I experienced on the first evening while staying there. With all of the stress and medical nonsense of the last few months, perhaps a pause is best for the moment. See you soon, dear readers. xx
