Hotel Nani Mocenigo Palace- Venice

If you’re preparing to move house and are all packed up, living in a land of boxes and misfit freezer food, it’s highly recommended to exit the premises and take off for a weekend away to clear your head even if your space hasn’t been.

After a long trip to the US, the gentleman sorted just that for us upon my return home. He selected Venice and the absolutely gorgeous Nani Mocenigo Palace hotel

A former palace and part of a family dowry, the place was stunning- including these modern, yet antique feeling chandeliers.

When we were handed the room keys, the front desk clerk informed us that we would have the only suite in the hotel with a balcony. I was floored and still am not sure how the gentleman pulled this off as he won’t say!

Our sitting room was quintessential Venice and was nearly larger than the half moved apartment I’d left back home.

A bottle of Prosecco upon arrival never was a wrong move and made for an excellent fuel when exploring this gorgeous space. Check out this in room fireplace!

Just wow…

The mini fridge was well equipped to handle your every desire.

His and her closets by his and her sides of the bed were out of his and her dreams. Hers featured a jewelry safe of course.

The bed was grand, but funny enough was two beds smashed together, typical of many euro hotels.

A small desk saw only minimal work…

While I never use hotel furniture, I just had to unpack in this antique dresser, offset by the padded fabric walls and more chandelier-like sconces.

The bathroom was utter perfection- his and her sinks, giant tub, and wall to wall marble everything! Made things a bit slippery, but the glamour!

Ferragamo toiletries were well stocked and replenished.

The stunning terrace overlooked the neighborhood below and seemed well enough protected from the aggressive seagulls.

Breakfast was helped in this stunning courtyard with a watergun to help with bird patrol.

Blown away can only describe this gem of a hotel, excellently situated between bars and restaurants on the island of Dorsoduro, behind La Accademia. I hope one day I’m lucky enough to return.
