Le Jardin- Paris

After a lackluster dinner at Langosteria in the Cheval Blanc, I opted to cleanse my palate and experience by wandering over the garden terrace to complete the resto and bar offerings of the upscale hotel. The sun was setting and I’d secured a prime table for the occasion. There was the minor issue of the Langosteria manager who’d asked me for a date could still see me as he served the room, but I’d quickly forget about that with these watercolor skies and quintessential Parisian rooftops.

I made sure the pair my wine with the sky and was then promptly presented with a bowl of cherry tomatoes for reasons unknown to me.

After a quick glance of the menu, despite having just eaten next door, I came to learn that the entire book was tomato and strawberry themed, gorgeously in line with the season. It was a somewhat playful menu, a nice juxtaposition to the stuffy restaurant next door. So much so, that I couldn’t resist the soft serve strawberry sundae after seeing it delivered to a neighboring table. Oh la la! Quel indulgence!

The sky grew darker and I decided I’d better leave and head to bed…

…just not before enjoying the tiny desserts accompanying the bill and penning a postcard to my love. The waiter seemed surprised that someone was actually writing in one of these so he didn’t seem to mind when I knicked his pen.

Le Jardin might be my favorite find yet in the Cheval Blanc and I can’t wait to return for a full meal and experience.
