Let’s jump back to Edinburgh for a meal or two and discuss how wonderful the “Wee Tour of Scotland” menu was at the Wedgwood in Edinburgh. This gem continues to win all sorts of awards for service and dining and the experience that I had certainly delivered on both. From the charmingly sarcastic hostesses, to the immediate double of gin in my hand, glorious course after course, I would certainly make this an Edinburgh special occasion mainstay. I’m just extra grateful I was able to test drive it on Uncle Company!
The menu and popper were charming details to find upon arrival. Nothing like wearing a paper crown throughout a multi-course dinner.
The first nibbles were all sorts of deliciousness that I can’t quite recall now.
The local scallop in a curry sauce certainly wins for presentation.
Jerusalem veloute and soda bread.
North Sea hake, braised fennel, and clams. YUM.
Venison with cauliflower puree and black pudding. These were both new to me and I LOVED them.
A little pre-dessert sorbet.
Very sticky toffee pudding that was so rich I couldn’t finish it, but it was divine.
I can’t figure out how I put on five pounds during this trip… This meal was worth every calorie and almost every pound I’m trying to reverse this January.
