Bordeaux has the feeling that someone has condensed some of the best parts of Paris, and dropped them all into the extremely walkable city of Bordeaux. The architecture, food, and overall ‘Frenchness’ drama give a bit of the magic of Paris, but beautifully situated on the southwestern coast. I had the feeling I was coming for wine tours in the countryside of St. Emilion and friends, but I was so pleasantly surprised by the city, that this is just another reason to return.
