After living in Switzerland for nearly two years, I finally, FINALLY tried the restaurant Alma in Eaux Vives. Why had I waited so long??? This was hands down the best meal I’ve had in Geneva. I already can’t wait to go back.
The decor is perfectly upbeat and tropical.

They really push pisco sours on you with signage all around the resto.

There was guacamole to start that had flavor, actual flavor! It was well-seasoned and the chips were “spicy” which is Swiss for paprika. Every table in the place had this so why is spice and flavor not a more common attribute in this adorable country of bland food?!?

Next up was the nigiri trio- spicy tuna on beds of crunchy rice. This was straight out my favorite foods in Miami playbook. I dream of this. I must find a way to make this at home.

Then, there was the cooked octopus ceviche. While good, it had nothing on the tuna. Again, there was a surprising amount of heat here.

As I work my way through the Alma menu, I’ll be sure to update this post. Don’t make the same mistake I did and wait for spicy tuna and crispy rice. I’m sure there’s a fine for that somewhere in Switzerland.
