A jewel box of upscale boutiques and cafes surround the U-shaped Portofino harbor. Come early to enjoy a short walk away from the throngs of tourists who will undoubtedly disembark from a tendering nearby cruiseship. While Portofino is lovely for a few hours, the real gem of this section of the Ligurian coast is Camogli, luckily there are plenty of water taxis to take you on a most enjoyable ride right over.
