Brera, the oldest area of Milan, quickly became my favorite neighborhood with its cobblestone pedestrian-only streets, cute shops, and plentiful restaurants. In fact, I believe I walked through this lovely area every single day of my trip, finding new treasures each time. Smack in the middle is the gorgeous Pinacoteca di Brera. This museum is worth a visit for the architecture alone, but specializes in Rennaissance and modern Italian art. They also have live art restorations for public viewing as well as a very charming garden in the back of the building.
