What the Hotel Deco Montana does have going for it is the amenities. After a very brief abs adorable cable car ride (pumped with smooth jazz), you arrive six stories higher to the hotel itself, where the bar touts good service and live music.
After an apero, head to Scala, an elegant, high-ceilinged special occasion restaurant which is just fancy enough while not being stuffy.
The lengthy bread board and accoutrements is really something to write about- beet butter, festive salts, an arm’s length of warm and crusty bread…

This visit, I most enjoyed the starter which were gorgeous scallops and a cube of pork belly which perfectly

For the main I opted for some the chef recommendation of some type of beef that incredibly plentiful, almost as much as the numerous beets! The savory potato and pastry tower was a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach.

Finally, for dessert I again opted for the chef recommendation of a deconstructed apple tarte. It was a bit “mousse-y” for my taste, but the flavor was there. The random marshmallows added another element and texture…and many questions.

All in all, it was a really lovely meal. Here’s a quick look at the gorgeous room. A few couples were still celebrating with what looked to be a Valentine’s pre-fix including heart confetti and balloons. This rogue one really made my evening, dancing delicately to the shadows of the palms.
