Hilton Palacio del Rio

Ah San Antonio… not one of my favorite places that I’ve ever visited and the Hilton Palacio del Rio was right in line with the town. There was nothing totally wrong with it- town or hotel. The town is like a Dave & Busters sponsored Disney world with a murky stream of a manmade river that cuts down the middle. Oh and with a large homeless problem. It’s all very sad.

The Hilton Palacio del Rio is on said rio and is just a bit tired and dirty. The bathroom was very unsavory with years worth of dirt clearly visible in crevices and a hole above the shower, for no apparent reason. Let’s take a tour, shall we?

First up, the bedroom. Notice the flat pillows?

The bath had counter space at least? I did have to call for toiletries a few days in though they weren’t great. The toilet never totally flushed and I’m sorry I failed to snap a photo of my shower hole.

On the desk, I was greeted with a letter outlining how one of the seven plagues could be occurring just in line with my conference.

I assume these locks on the door were to keep the crickets at bay. Now, if only they’d stop falling out of the ceiling during my business presentation.

Ah and the view! If you forgot you were at a conference, here is your ever present reminder.

One sad chair, for one sad lady.

Don’t you dare even try to stay in this bomb shelter of a hotel.

The river walk is definitely not the favorite place to be. The food down there is bad too. I worked in SA for about 6 months and really liked everything else about the city! Hotel Emma there is hands down one of the best hotels Ive stayed in the world. Seriously.

  2. Would love to go back, not for a conference and stay and eat where I choose. I’ll definitely hit you up for recommendations! Thanks for reading.
