She’s Gonna Blow…

Not often, but occasionally, I wonder about starting my life over at 30. Watching all my friends find love, get married, have kids, sling a company, sometimes I feel like I’m living my younger years now and spinning my wheels a bit. I’m happy for them, but sometimes I just feel like I should be doing more. It’s hard to put into words, but that’s the gist of it.

One thing I do seem to excel in is travel reading and detailed trip planing. It’s a true love and passion of mine and always has been since I was a wee lass reading travel books cover to cover with no plans to visit the place. This year the place I’ve been after is Bali! My girlfriend and I have spent a year planning and researching this bucket list trip. We are set to leave in just under three weeks, but one minor detail getting in the way. Mount Agung. She’s gonna blow! And she hasn’t erupted since 1963. Real rude. I’m so bummed out that this trip isn’t going to happen and the most frustrating thing is that no one knows what’s going to happen. You can’t predict it like a hurricane. You just wait. And then the volcano can erupt for weeks. Oy.

So, I’m wondering if anyone out there has much volcano experience and might be able to shed a light on all of these (hopefully) overly dramatic news stories? Stay safe, Bali! I’m coming for you and I’d love it to be sooner rather than later. xoxo
